Clasic Motorshow in Lahti 2008

Some great additions to Finnish show scene came up this spring. We got finally a classic car show for all those "pussihousu" guys. Have to say that I was really impressed. Thought that some 2 hours would do the job but we ended up staying at this show for the whole day! All major classic car brands and their clubs were present, even the local Customs office came around and tried to spread some words of wisdom about importing car parts etc... Good thinking I have to say. ;)) Great piece of historic rally scene was presented in actual driving demonstration every 2 hours or so. My 911 inspided gas foot started kicking ground as I saw that Porsche blasting past! Great action all together. I'll bet next year will be even more exciting!!!

Oh yes, and there was a real RS also on display. Really nice indeed! And if that was not enough a classic 356 was sure to do the trick...

Call it depression or whatever...

So, it's been ages since any news of my project and right, there has been none. Well, the engine has developed maybe most and evolved into something even more radical, the car however, has not... Actually the latest images show even some cutaway work that has taken this project backwards! Or, maybe not.Depends how one looks at this. The shell itself is starting to shape up and would be paintable in a matter of days but since the engine requires even more grip, I decided to cutaway and make room for some drastic donuts in the rear! The rear will be narrowed for 3 inces on one side. Have to buy some new wheels to fill that now. So maybe this break of not doing anything lifts this plot to new heights?

Another thing that came into way was swapping into new garage location. We did manage to obtain some space right in the heart of Helsinki and now we have space to fill our needs. No more minus 20m2 spaces or cold winter work sessions. So it's all there, all I have to do now is? err... show up I guess. The nice black bug in the images if my buddy's wife's car to make this sound complicated. Original in every sense, even the paint is factory. But, as you can see the usual treatment of cool wheels and dropped nose is there...

... and some more ...

A small remark about the images of Sacramento, and California in general. I'm astounded about the colors and especially the sky on these pics. I've always been wondering the fact that pics taken in US seem so crisp. Almost as if someone took these shots through a "hollywood" filter somesort. Nonetheless. Aleksi's shots seem to duplicate that feeling eventhough no filters were used. So, to take neat crisp images one has to travel across the globe to get some... ;)
